Requirements:
a. Avoid Current Damage
Stray currents passing through the bearing can cause damage, resulting in micro-pits on the raceway and rolling element surfaces. Lubricants are also affected and degrade accordingly. Once bearing damage occurs due to current flow, the bearing’s service life will be significantly shortened due to increased noise, reduced lubricant efficiency, increased temperature, and excessive vibration.
b. Reduce Maintenance
Motor maintenance generally includes lubricating bearings and monitoring motor performance. Improper lubrication or replenishment can lead to excessive wear and shorten bearing life. Bearings may even fail prematurely, resulting in significantly increased operating costs. Proper sealing is a crucial component of bearing lubrication. Motors equipped with sealed and lifetime-lubricated bearings require no replenishment lubrication and are therefore considered maintenance-free.
c. Proper Maintenance
EISENBERG bearings offer excellent reliability and can operate trouble-free, but maintenance is necessary in some situations. In these situations, using appropriate maintenance methods, tools, and products is crucial to maximize bearing reliability and extend service life.
1. Installation and Removal
Bearing life depends on its operating environment. However, the procedures used for installing and maintaining bearings directly impact their service life.
2. Lubrication
Lubrication is essential for achieving high reliability and extending service life. Grease or oil can be used as lubricants.
d. Avoiding Unplanned Downtime
When the condition monitoring system detects a fault or early warning signal, corrective actions can be planned and executed to prevent equipment failure. This avoids costly unplanned downtime.
e. Speed and Rotation Direction Feedback
Three-phase induction motors are powerful, maintenance-free solutions commonly used in industrial applications. However, to control speed and rotation direction, a device for recording motor speed is necessary. This function is often performed by installing a decoder or resolving device on the induction motor.
